How much money you need to start trading depends on the broker and the market. Many brokers have no or low minimum deposit, so you can start with a few hundred pounds. The real question is how much you can afford to lose while learning.

Treat early capital as learning capital. Use small position sizes so you can practise without blowing up. As you get better and add more money, your process will already be in place. Never trade with rent or essential savings.
